BAH! HUMBUG! FIRST CHALLENGE - RECYCLING!

Hi Peeps - another challenge card - yes it's Christmas again!!
This really has been a challenge - thanks to Ann, Irene and Max from Bah! Humbug! for kicking my brain cell into gear!! This is the first Challenge of their brand new Blog and we were asked to recycle old Xmas cards (bought ones), wrapping paper, ribbon, etc. etc. I have used some thin cardboard from a package I received (looks a bit like Kraft card, but cost me nothing!), but my inspiration came from the navy and beige gingham ribbon which was wrapped around a lovely foodie gift from my daughter, bought from Betty's (they sell the most scrumptious cakes, choccies, coffee, etc.). The cardboard was a perfect match for the ribbon. The gold paper mat was a wrapping from a Ferrero Rocher choccie (yum), smoothed out a little with a brayer then wrapped around a rectangle of thin card. The two gold snowflakes were punched from another Ferrero Rocher wrapping, after attaching to a piece of thin card with DSST to give it "body"!!
Cap and Scarf Penguin stamp is from Hero Arts (love him to bits), and the blue snowflake stamp is from an Elusive Images set. Tiny red Papermania gems, Gold Glamour Dust and a red Marvy marker pen, to finish.
Thanks for popping by - Hugs, Sylvia xx

There seems to be a lot of chocolate and cakes going on here !!! Think we all know what you like now Sylvia!! Love your card - that ribbon is gorgeous and just thinking about Betty's has me drooling. My daughter went to York a couple of months back and came back with these amazing marzipan fruit shaped cakes (I'm on a diet so she was trying to say fruit is okay). They were just out of this world - so gorgeous.
Sorry for rambling! Thanks again for entering and I hope we'll see you in next week's challenge.

Oh wow ... you have risen to our challenge admirably with so many recycled components.
When I was little, I used to love flattening the shiny paper from bars of chocolate or sweets and then keeping them in a box until there was no chocolate smell left LOL. Saddo I know!
Thank you for supporting us in our 1st Bah! Humbug! Challenge and I hope you will be a regular visitor over the coming year.

Luv'n'Stuff

This looks so good. The ribbon is gorgeous and the image very sweet but the star(s) have to be the gold snowflakes. They look so delicate - it must be a smashing punch. And the good news is - I have an unopened box of Ferrero Rochet. Now I have to open it and eat them for the sake of my crafting.

wow what a beautiful job and almost entirely recylcled, how clever is that, I did notice a recurring choccie theme lol, a girl after my own heart ( I think I could possibly recreate the o2 arena with my chocolate wrappings this year he he he ) BTW love the stamp XXX
