THE GREAT OUTDOORS AT DU2DS!

Hi lovely bloggers - hope you are all enjoying the warm weather (wish I had a paddling pool).
So, what with all this hot and sticky weather, methinks that "The Great Outdoors" is a very suitable challenge subject this fortnight over at
If the last challenge is anything to go by, there will be a huge amount of fabulous entries - thanks to everyone for taking part.
So, if you're joining in for the first time, just click the link above and you will find all the Challenge details, and some inspiration from Chris and the DT.
*****
For my DT card I have coloured Mo's fabulous "Secret Garden" image with copics and inked the edges with Peeled Paint and Broken China distress inks. The image was then cut out with the Nesties Labels 1. This is a very detailed image, so you may wish to click it to enlarge.
The BP is My Minds Eye, Bloom & Grow - this was machine-stitched onto the SU Kraft card (more wonky stitching I'm afraid!), and some natural twine added. I was going to add some lace, but somehow the twine seemed to fit in better with the garden/outdoors theme! Heart button from stash, and an old Hero Arts sentiment stamped with Coffee Archival ink. Ooops - nearly forgot - there just had to be a tiny bit of Glamour dust sprinkled on the flowers!
Have a great weekend everyone.
Love and Hugs, Sylvia xxx

Gorgeous card, Sylvia, and what a lovely image. It reminds me of my daughter when she was young. The colours you've used are so cool and restful, and the background paper suits it really well.

oh yes, I remember getting the paddling pool out for the girls (when they were little) They found out the rabbits and guinea pigs liked it too!! This s a super card..I won't do the poem I know about a swing, but this image all ways reminds me of it!

Me Again, it wasn't my poem, it was one I always remember. A neighbour had even me a children's book of poems, (she was a brilliant lady and I love her to bits even now) I didn't have that many books so I've still got it! (very natty now!) and we were told we had to read from our favourite book at school, which stumped me straight away as I didn't have a favourite book! and I was rubbish at reading out loud and they'd all giggle and point, so, I learnt the poem off by heart and read it out loud perfectly and fooled them all! (I'll cheat here and paste and copy it, it's called
The Swing
by Robert Louis Stevenson

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
River and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside.

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown,
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!

weird what we remember!

Wow Lyn - thank you so much for sharing this wonderful poem - I have never seen it before - brought a tear to my eyes. (My youngest grandchildren have a swing in their garden and they love it - I will pass this poem onto them). I guess we all remember the good things in life.
Thanks Lyn - love, Sylvia xxx

Hi Sylvia. What a gorgeous card. I love all the stitching and your girl on her swing brings back happy memories for me too. We had a swing in our garden when I was little, not room in ours now unfortunately. Your colouring is beautiful and I love the cool green, just what we need in this weather isn't it, it's certainly been hot hot hot!!
Hope you have a lovely weekend.
