DOES ANYONE HAVE A CRIMPER?!!

Good morning peeps - hope you are well and enjoying the Olympics?

The amazing photo Steph has chosen for us at this fortnight's  For Your Inspiration Challenge,  is a night-time view of  Cologne Cathedral  -love the turquoise  and gold!

and here is my take on the photo - a very clean and simple design, inspired by the architecture and the colours.

Recipe:
Cream cardstock.
My Minds Eye, Stella Rose spotty papers.
A paper Crimper was used on the ovals to replicate the lines on the bridge.
It's the first time I've used this crafting tool for years!  What ancient craft tool have YOU got hidden away, unloved and unused? I would love to know!
I used  two sizes of Nestie Ovals, and the Lacy Squares die.
Corner rounder punch.
The banner was cut by hand, sentiment an old favourite from Hero Arts.
Tim Holtz brads and Distress Inks to finish.
**************
 Have a great weekend -
Love and Hugs  ~

Morning Sylvia..

This is a perfect representation of that photo..... and yes, you've caught the colour and texture of the bridge perfectly in your crimping. And yes.... I have a crimper hidden away!!! I also have lots of other 'have to haves' which at the time seemed so needed, but remain at the back of the cupboard...... LOL!

You've really got the spirit and design of the photo in your card. It's a lovely interpretation. Yes - I have a crimper - inherited from my sister and keep forgetting about it. Perhaps I should put it on my desk instead of at the back of a drawer. I may then get to use it sometime.

Hi Sylvia,
I love your interpretation of the photo...your LO looks brilliant! A fabulous card!
Yes, I've had a crimper for years. I think they were the only way to get some texture on your card before they brought out the wonderful embossing folders x

I love the clever way you have combined all the elements of that photo very very clever Sylvia! i love it.
I have a crimper and love the effects you can get with it, I just forget to use it, like I forget to use ribbon and embossing etc LOL
By crimping the spotted paper the effect is of a much more complicated embossing effect, at least in your photo it looks that way.

I love the way you've made this card - very clever! I've never had a crimper but I do wish I did sometimes! I've still got all my old parchment craft tools which are very useful for all sorts of jobs, except parchment craft which I would now avoid like the plague!
Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving your lovely comment.
