CELEBRATE FRIENDSHIP AT SENTIMENTAL SUNDAYS!

Update - January 18th - my card was chosen as "Card of the Week" at Phindy's Place Challenges!!
Hope you have all recovered from the Christmas/ New Year celebrations (and all those choccies)!! Now tell me honestly - how many of you can't wait to put the trimmings away and get back to normal, and how many of you feel a tinge of sadness when the tree comes down, and those beautiful twinkling lights are packed away for another year?!!
*****
So peeps, here is the first Sentimental Sundays challenge of 2011, which is "Celebrate Friendship". Details can be found by clicking the link above, and there are some fab. freebies up for grabs too, and of course some great DT inspiration!! Thanks to everyone who entered last week's challenge - lots of fabulous projects once again. Winners will be announced on the SS Blog on Tuesday.
****
My DT card recipe is:
The fab. "Fishing" image, which I printed onto Kraft card, is from Phindy's Place,
coloured with Copics, edges inked with Broken China DI.  I used a soft touch  of white colouring pencil on the collar and cuffs.
Sentiment - by Ann Vento at Raindrop Echo Designs.
Kraft card - Stampin Up.
Card layers - Core'Dinations "Cappucino", edges distressed with sandpaper and scissors.
Paper layers - Amy Butler Sola (KandCo).
Linen thread - Stampin Up.
*****
I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:-
My Time To Craft - Something New, which could be a technique or crafty stash etc. (Using Copics on Kraft card was a first for me, and the SU Linen Thread is brand new)!,
Incy Wincy - Distressing, and
Phindys Place - Distressing.

~ WISHING EVERYONE A HAPPY 2011 ~

Hi Sylvia, this is wonderful, love the gentle colouring and all the pretty layers, your DP's are brilliantly co-ordinated, all in all a lovely card.
Have to admit to being in the process of removing the decorations, everything looks so shabby when they come down. We'll have to look at some new paint soon, great fun, I love it:0)
Hope you're having a great weekend? :0) xxx

Happy New Year Sylvia...I LOVE YOUR CARDS...The colours, the layout...everything about them and your 'My Father' card is another gorgeous creation. I`ve thanked you and a few others on my blog for the lovely comments you all leave, they are all very much appreicated. I`m in the 'sadness'camp when it comes to the tree and the lights coming down (lights especially) :( It`s still so dark and miserable this time of year and the twinkling lights brighten the day so...I`m not looking forward to taken them down on the weekend.
